ALPEN TOPPERS

PRODUCT DESIGN / PACKAGING DESIGN / BRANDING

 

Alpen asked us to explore ways of making their product more tailored to individuals tastes and needs. This follows a trend of customers adding additional ingredients to their high end musli and granola to personalise and enhance it.

The solution needed to give the customer flexibility and added choice, but also be viable for in store environments. Any kind of loose product as seen in smaller health food chains look premium but would be problematic in a supermarket environment.

Staff requirement (restocking), cleanliness (spillage) and health and safety (allergies) were all factors to be taken into consideration.

My idea was to sell a 'base mix' of stripped back Alpen alongside small pots of 'Toppers' in both individual or multi-pack SKU's.

These would allow shoppers to mix and match flavours or favour their particular favourite topping.

Product name, logo, design, and POS solutions were all created by me.

The concept was loved by the client and investigation into the product is still ongoing.
