CAMPAIGN CREATION / BRANDING / DESIGN
As a pro-active piece, we approached the iconic footwear brand Dr martens with a taste of a potential in store campaign.
My thinking behind this campaign was to celebrate the long lasting relationship between the brand and the living, breathing backdrop they're synonymous with - the city.
The pavements of UK major cities and university towns have long been pounded with the iconic cushioned soles. An urban fashion staple for generations in student life, work life and nightlife Dr Martens have always been 'the sole of the city'.
My idea was to link this fashion icon with the sense of belonging many people feel with their home or uni town, where they've worked or even places they've visited.
A series of tailored artworks would be produced taking recognisable skylines and landmarks and moulding them into the outline of the most popular Dr Martens silhouettes. These could then appear in store and even on limited edition tote bags, becoming collectable in their own right.
